Morristown UFO hoax

The Morristown UFO hoax was done by Joe Rudy and Chris Russo in 2009. What actually occurred was 5 red lights lit up the sky over Morristown over a period of several weeks, and caused quite a stir when people started formulating UFO theories. Moreover, after confessing to the act, Russo and Rudy claimed it was all for a “social experiment” they had cooked up, all in an effort to prove that the buzz that typically surrounds “ufology” and overall UFO sightings should not always be regarded as accurate, especially eyewitness claims. Neither of them got jail time; instead, they had to do 50 hours of community service and pay $250 dollars each.
